The Arco lamp features a wide 58-inch stainless steel arch with a maximum height of between 92 and 95 inches, which extends from its marble base to the reflector, which is shaped like a rotating bell. Taking these aspects into account, the creators of this lamp developed a design with valuable technical characteristics.

In the mid-twentieth century, the pieces of furniture and fixtures that generated the most impact in the world of interior design had a constant focus on functionality. However, this doesn’t mean that they neglected the aesthetic aspects; therefore, the result was a wide range of models that combined both aspects amazingly. This revolutionary approach, which also had a very important reception throughout the planet, would become years later in what the historians of design and architecture would call the Mid-Century Modern style, whose most iconic and representative pieces would always have something in common: offering simplicity and beauty in a successful balance. 

This is how the Mid-Century Modern was quickly displacing the old decorative styles of the previous century and other times, in which the use of superabundant and meticulous aesthetic details predominated, to give way to simple and clean lines, practicality, and minimalist aesthetics that in some cases explored trends such as biomorphism and geometric models.
